Since the beginning of time, humans continue to pursue the perfect braai or BBQ meals over charcoal. Woza Braai-BBQ’s passion for this pursuit is delivered to you through our wood and charcoal. Sourced from the most sustainable tree species in Southern Africa, ensure that we support the local Southern African economy, whilst removing invasive tree species. Our passion is to restore wildlife habitats, conserve water, and enhance biodiversity. Through this core element of cooking, Woza Braai-BBQ will connect you to your forefathers, family and friends. Woza Braai-BBQ, has stemmed from our passion of cooking over open fire. We strongly believe that the quality of any good braai or BBQ where you may be cooking a single sausage or a 10 hour+ smoke of some delicious brisket, the result will always be determined by your core ingredient, your fuel source.
We specialize in the importation, supply and distribution of sustainably sourced Southern African hardwood and premium lump wood charcoal to the UK and Europe.
Charcoal
Lumpwood charcoal is the purest form of charcoal. Charcoal produces a consistent fire, enhances taste, and allows you to add your own smoking woods to control the flavour and intensity.
Wood comprises of water, sugars and other chemicals that do not burn consistently. That is why a wood fires produces smoke and a large amount of ash. Hardwoods that are set alight in a kiln then have the oxygen supply removed at a critical point and transforms almost entirely into carbon. The limited supply of oxygen prevents the charcoal from burning. Therefore, charcoal produces less smoke and ash. Lumpwood charcoal created by this process burns hotter and consistently.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) logo on our bags of charcoal, is your assurance that it is made with, or contains only forest-based materials from FSC certified forests or reclaimed sources. FSC’s and Woza Braai-BBQ’s (through our partnerships) mission is to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of Southern African forests.
Wildlife Poisoning Prevention
Intentional poison abuse for commercial poaching is on the increase. Through Woza Braai-BBQ’s partnerships and interaction with the environment in Southern Africa, we have experienced first-hand how humans and the environment are at conflict. In order to ensure that our environment, both flora and fauna will be enjoyed for generations to come, through our partnerships we have partnered with the Wildlife Poisoning Prevention Scheme. A donation will be shared through our partners for each bag of Woza Braai-BBQ premium charcoal sold.
